Age-related swallowing changes are common, as is the incidence of Dysphagia in the aged care population where clients experience medical complexities or palliative care.  To address the needs of these clients, Communico Speech Language and Swallowing Therapy, offer site visits for Dysphagia intervention. 

With experience servicing major aged care facilities, we understand the importance of delivering timely services for mealtime management plan implementation with safe swallow strategies and diet/fluid modifications.  

We work with the client, their support person/family and facility staff to assist them in making informed choices about their own care and mealtimes. Often times this may involve decision making around eating and drinking with acknowledged risk. This ensures their dignity while strongly considering their quality of life.  

We provide a clinical hand over to nursing staff as well as onsite reporting options. We understand every aged care facility and specialist disability accommodations operate differently and work with you to suit your needs. We also offer Clinical Swallow Examinations  via Telehealth along with consultation approaches to suit regional and rural facilities facing a shortage of service providers. 

Early intervention is key to supporting the communication and literacy outcomes of children. Through screening assessments, we can identify additional supports needs children may need and offer that support early on for better outcomes. 

At Communico Speech Language and Swallowing Therapy, we work with the organisation to plan the most suitable screening process and reporting methods that suit their organisation and families. 

At Communico Speech Language and Swallowing Therapy, we work with organisations to identify the learning needs of their staff and provide tailored training and workshops to address these. A range of training structures and delivery modes are available to suit each organisation including on-site training at your organisation or our clinic space, video conference, hands-on demonstrations, worksheets and quizzes, case scenarios and more. 

We develop resources to suit the needs of your organisation's learning and day-to-day operations. This includes speech therapy related educational pieces, blog posts, Infographs, reporting templates, therapy materials, policies, handbooks and more. This is especially useful for practices offering speech therapy services who may not have an internal senior SLP or SLPs wanting to outsource these tasks to focus on other areas of their business.
